HAZEL FERRIE

I will paint or draw almost anything and love the feeling of moving paint around.

I'm allowing myself some time to play and develop my work this year with no exhibitions or events to add the pressure of deadlines into the mix.

Playing a little more with landscapes and local scenes and various mediums, I'm interested to see where this leads.

I may fall back on my beloved still-lifes, but landscapes and even cityscapes seem to be calling me at present.

Oil is my preferred medium, but usually there is a nod to mixed-media, with hints of the under-painting or my original drawing remaining but I have allowed myself to dabble in ink and watercolour and also acrylics - and am enjoying the immediacy they offer.

Mainly self taught, I have taken many adult classes over the years and gained an HND at Ayr College in Art and Design in 2008 and I have kept on painting at various day and evening classes and in my studio at home since then.

All of my work is available for sale, and whilst some of the originals have sold, most are available as mounted giclee prints.
